My Happy Place

I started experimenting with acrylic paint pouring in 2017. I very quickly fell in love with it. Every pour is different and watching the results as they happen is exciting! The possibilities are endless and I learn something new with every pour. It really is my happy place!

I married the love of my life, my soul mate, David. I could not do what I do with out his love, support and never ending help. Not to mention the enormous amount of patience as my “painting addiction” is slowly taking over the lower half of our home.

I am the mother of 4 amazing kids who turned into 8 amazing kids and now, a Nana to 14 of the absolute best grandchildren that a Nana could ever pray for.

I am truly one very blessed and extremely thankful lady.

Acrylic Paint Pouring

An Abstract Painting Technique

Acrylic paint pouring is an abstract painting technique. It is also referred to as fluid art or liquid art.

This art form uses a variety of fluid mediums, acrylic paints, dry pigments and in some cases inks.

Within acrylic pouring there are various techniques. Different techniques give different looks and effects. No two pours are ever the same, no matter how hard you try!

This art form is very unique in the way it turns up results and is a lot of fun.

When creating abstract fluid art, it doesn't always turn out the way you plan or imagine it will. When that happens, wipe it and pour again and sometimes again and again and again. Never give up, keep on trying, in the end you'll be so glad you did!

My Process

What To Use

First, I make my pouring medium.

Mix It Up

Next, I mix my paints and pigments with the pouring medium to get the correct consistency for the technique that I am going to do.

Get Ready

Then I prepare my pieces and my pouring surfaces.

The Fun Part

Now it is time to pour.

Waiting...

Once I have poured my pieces and I am satisfied with the results, they are set aside to dry.

Seal The Deal

Once dried, I finish them with epoxy or other sealant depending on the project and set them aside to dry/ cure.

Finishing Touches

Once everything is dry, finishing touches are made such as removing tape, sanding, placing backings and so on.
